Postdoctoral Fellows and Interns: AI4Materials and Alloys Design (招聘博士后與實(shí)習(xí)生:人工智能輔助材料與合金設(shè)計) Department: State Key Laboratory for Mechanical Behavior of Materials, State Key Laboratory of Porous Metal Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Xi’an 710049, China Salary/Pay Rate: 250,000-400,000/year with extra bonus Job Description: The fusion of artificial intelligence and machine learning with materials science has unlocked a realm of possibilities leading to performance forecasting, knowledge discovery and accelerated development of innovative materials. This data-driven strategy marks a pivotal shift in the field, where informatics seamlessly integrates with materials experiments, simulations, and manufacturing processes. Researchers Xiangdong Ding, Zhibin Gao, Hongxiang Zong, Dezhen Xue, and Turab Lookman at XJTU have been at the forefront of this emerging field in developing core expertise in applying machine learning and data science to experimental synthesis and characterization and multiscale modeling. Challenges addressed include application to structural and functional materials. We are looking for outstanding candidates to interact with and enhance research capabilities to develop innovative approaches. Position 1: Large-scale machine learning model training and AI-enabled materials science. 1. Computing/statistics/AI/ML training, and eagerness to work with modelers and experimentalists. 2. Basic science training in materials science, condensed matter physics, or computer science, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment. 3. In-depth experience of Python and coding. Position 2: Synthesis and Design of alloys and structural materials. 1. Alloy synthesis technologies. 2. Charactering tools including XRD, SEM, TEM, EBSD.
