招2個計算材料學(xué)博士 加拿大曼尼托巴大學(xué)

|
曼尼托巴大學(xué)（University of Manitoba，簡稱U of M或UM）是位于加拿大曼尼托巴省的一所公立研究大學(xué)。該大學(xué)因其作為頂尖的研究密集型高等教育機構(gòu)而享有盛譽，每年進行的研究活動超過該地區(qū)的其他任何大學(xué)。機械工程系的教學(xué)和研究活動涵蓋多個機械工程領(lǐng)域，包括固體力學(xué)、材料科學(xué)、流體力學(xué)、制造等。該系擁有多個成熟的實驗室，能夠處理先進合金材料、智能材料和振動系統(tǒng)的設(shè)計與測試，配備了高性能計算機、LMS數(shù)據(jù)采集系統(tǒng)、Polytec激光振動計、Nanosurf原子力顯微鏡、納米壓痕測試臺和電子掃描/透射顯微鏡。通過 Compute Canada and WestGrid提供世界領(lǐng)先的高性能計算資源。 Main Research Direction: (1) Position 1 will focus on the structure, thermodynamics and/or kinetics of grain boundaries in metals; (2) Position 2 will focus on the design and characterization of high-entropy steels. Both positions will use atomistic simulations and machine learning as the main tools. Supervisor: Dr. Chuang Deng (https://scholar.google.ca/citati ... ;user=k62IEhQAAAAJ) Fellowship: $25000 CAD/year Requirements: The candidate should 1) hold a M.Sc. degree in Materials Sciences, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field; 2) have good communication skills (both writing and oral) in English； 3) have strong interests in atomistic simulations (MD, DFT, Monte Carlo, etc.) and machine learning. Previous experience in these fields is not required but highly desired; 4) have good programming skills (python, C, Fortran, etc.).
