Goda Lab at the University of Tokyo is dedicated to realizing Louis Pasteur’s insight that “chance favors the prepared mind.” The lab actively welcomes highly motivated graduate students from China, especially those who may face difficulties pursuing opportunities in the United States due to recent major funding cuts at American universities. Led by Professor Keisuke Goda of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Tokyo, who also holds adjunct professorships in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Institute of Technological Sciences at Wuhan University, the lab focuses on developing innovative technologies that integrate photonics, nanotechnology, microfluidics, and data science. By harnessing these approaches, the group aims to discover unknown phenomena, elucidate fundamental mechanisms, and explore transformative applications in science, industry, and medicine. Goda Lab employs theoretical, experimental, and computational techniques to tackle critical challenges while also committing to cultivating the next generation of global leaders who will shape the twenty-first century. The lab fosters an international, interdisciplinary, and inclusive research environment that values flat human relationships, open communication, and collaboration. Talented individuals from diverse academic backgrounds, universities, and industries are strongly encouraged to apply.
