Aarhus university (Danish: Aarhus Universitet, abbreviated au) is the largest and second oldest research university in Denmark. The university is placed in the top 100 in most prestigious rankings of the world's best universities, belongs to the Coimbra group and Utrecht network of European universities and is a member of the European university association. 土木與建筑材料課題組負(fù)責(zé)人信息 (https://pure.au.dk/portal/en/persons/mnwu%40cae.au.dk): Dr. Min Wu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Aarhus University. His main research interests are related to different aspects of materials especially for construction uses, including interaction between CO2 and construction materials (CCUS context), microstructure and properties of cement-based materials, durability design and service life modeling of reinforced concrete structures, novel and sustainable construction materials, recycling and waste utilization, self-healing and self-repairing materials, etc. The research aims to improve our understanding of the mostly used construction materials, i.e. cement based materials, and to create more synergy between two major aspects of construction materials, i.e. sustainability and durability. CO2 mineralization based on alkaline waste sources has attracted significant interests and holds high potential, while it also faces challenges. This project will especially investigate how bacteria can overcome the constraints of the process, and maximize the efficiency of the process, etc. Moreover, novel strategies will be sought to ensure high value uses of the obtained final products (rather low value applications are NOT of interest in the project). The position is part of an interdisciplinary project. You will be working in a close collaboration with another PhD student specialized in microbiology at the Department of Biology at AU. You will particularly focus on investigating the mineralized products and proposing upcycling strategies. You will join an innovative and cross-disciplinary research team including experts on microbiology, fundamental and applied material science. The team has access to excellent infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities for the project. You are expected to autonomously carry out research work under the supervision team. You may co-supervise students (MSc and BSc) in their projects. You expand your research portfolio, and share your research findings through high-impact publications and presentations at international conferences, contributing to the advancement of relevant technologies. -co2-mineralization |
