Situated in the historic and culturally rich city of Guangzhou,the university boasts two campuses in Baiyun and Haizhu Districts, covering a total area of 117.53hm^2. Originally known as Zhongkai Agricultural and Industrial School, the university was founded in 1927 during the first cooperation between the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
