The successful candidate will conduct research in stochastic optimization and dynamic decision-making, with applications in supply chain management and smart cities. The position offers a competitive funding package ranging from $36,000 to $40,000 per year. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of empirical and stochastic models to transform data into better decisions for various processes and operations, particularly related to Supply Chain Management and Smart Cities. Our aim is to creatively combine tools from machine learning, optimization, stochastic processes (e.g., Markov decision processes), and approximate dynamic programming to develop meaningful dynamic control policies for problems that arise in (large-scale) stochastic systems. If you share enthusiasm for academic challenges and meet the requirements below, I encourage you to apply.
