加拿大西安大略大學計算機系2025年全獎博士生

MSc/PhD positions in artificial intelligence/machine learning for medicine Department of Computer Science. Western University Lab website: https://phulab.org Description: The Hu lab in the Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Computer Science at Western University, Canada has multiple fully funded MSc/PhD positions in artificial intelligence for medicine in the Department of Computer Science. Western University ranks within the top 10 research-intensive universities in Canada and top 114 in the world (The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024). Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to join an interdisciplinary team to develop innovative deep learning algorithms to analyze multimodal data in one or two of the four areas: medical imaging analysis, genomic data integration, single cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics, and drug design and discovery. Qualifications: 1). A minimum BSc degree in computer science. For candidates with only BSc degree but want to apply for PhD program, they can be transferred into PhD program in the end of first year and all the courses taken in the first year will be counted as a part of the PhD program. 2). Solid math and machine learning theoretical backgrounds and proficient in using different deep learning architectures. 3). have solid programming skills (R, Python and/or C, etc.), and acquaintance with Linux. 4). GPA>80%. 5). Strong written and communication skills. 6). meet one of the following English test requirement: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 250, computer based; internet based test (iBT) 90, with no individual score lower than 22; International English Language Testing Service (IELTS): 6.5 out of 9; Application: Individuals interested in this position should submit a cover letter clearly indicating their research interest, a curriculum vitae, and transcripts. Dr. Pingzhao Hu is an Associate Professor at Western University (The University of Western Ontario). Dr. Hu has appointments in both the Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Computer Science. He is also an Associate Professor (Status-only) of Biostatistics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Hu is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Computational Approaches to Health Research. His lab (https://phulab.org/) mainly focuses on health data science and AI for medicine. The Hu lab has been publishing in top journals and leading AI conferences. Dr. Hu is an Academic Editor of Plos Computational Biology, Associate Editors of Annals of Medicine (Section of Medical Genetics and Genomics), and Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal (CSBJ). Dr. Hu has excellent experience in mentoring trainees at different levels. Many of his trainees have received international and national awards, were accepted into top graduate schools (like Oxford, Cambridge, UCLA, CMU, Toronto,), are employed in high-tech companies (like Google, Microsoft, Amazon), and landed tenure-track professor positions in Canada. 胡教授: 胡博士是西安大略大學的副教授，分別在生物化學系和計算機科學系任職。他同時也是多倫多大學生物統(tǒng)計學的副教授（僅職務），并擔任加拿大研究主席計劃二級計算健康研究領域的研究主席。胡實驗室一直在頂級期刊和領先的人工智能會議上發(fā)表研究成果。胡博士在指導各級學員方面擁有豐富經(jīng)驗，他的許多學員獲得國際和國家獎項，包括被頂級研究生院（如牛津大學、劍橋大學、加州大學洛杉磯分校、多倫多大學）錄取，受聘于高科技公司（如谷歌、微軟、亞馬遜），以及在加拿大獲得終身教授職位。成功的候選人有望加入跨學科團隊，開發(fā)創(chuàng)新的深度學習算法，分析醫(yī)學成像分析、基因組數(shù)據(jù)集成、單細胞RNA測序和空間轉錄組學，以及藥物設計和發(fā)現(xiàn)等多模態(tài)數(shù)據(jù)的領域。候選人將有機會指導研究生和本科生，并參與資助提案的準備和寫作過程。 西安大略大學位于加拿大安大略省倫敦市，是一所世界著名學府，也是加拿大頂尖大學之一。長期以來，該校穩(wěn)居加拿大前十，并在2024年QS世界大學排名中位列第114位。學校擁有悠久的歷史，是加拿大Old Four成員之一（另外三所為麥吉爾大學、多倫多大學和女皇大學），其校園被認為是全加拿大最美麗的之一。 |
