PhD student recruitment-Case Western Reserve University (Biomedical area)

Dr. Jiujiu Yu from the Department of Nutrition School of Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University is recruiting a highly-motivated PhD student to join their research group. Dr. Yu’s research has focused on the molecular mechanisms of chronic inflammation in obesity, aging, and liver diseases and identification of new molecular therapeutics or dietary interventions to suppress such chronic inflammation. They are particularly interested in the contribution of the NLRP3 inflammasome in the innate immune system and extracellular vesicles (EVs) to chronic inflammation. They also actively work on dietary EV-like nanoparticles or specific components and their anti-inflammatory functions. Dr. Yu’s group has published original research articles in highly influential journals and is well funded. Previous research experience in cell culture and mouse models is highly desirable.
