學(xué)校： University of Utah 專業(yè)：Mining Engineering 入學(xué)：2025 Spring/Fall 研究興趣目前主要涵蓋尾礦管理的各個(gè)方向，理論研究和實(shí)驗(yàn)研究相結(jié)合。研究方向包括但不限于： • Sedimentation and consolidation 尾礦沉降和固結(jié) • Filtration performance of thickened tailings 尾礦過(guò)濾 • Rheological, geotechnical, and mechanical behaviors of tailings 尾礦的蠕變和土力學(xué)特性 • Paste tailings backfill 膏體充填 • Stability of tailings storage facilities 尾礦庫(kù)穩(wěn)定性 • CO2 sequestration in tailings management 尾礦材料固碳 導(dǎo)師簡(jiǎn)介： Dr. Yuan (Stuart) Li I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Utah. I earned my PhD in Mining Engineering from the University of British Columbia, where I studied under the supervision of Professor Dirk van Zyl. My research focuses on advancing mine tailings management, with a particular emphasis on dewatering methods through sedimentation and filtration techniques. I also explore the rheological properties, mechanical behavior, and geotechnical characteristics of various types of tailings. In the management of tailings storage facilities (TSFs), my work addresses key safety challenges and the environmental impact of tailings. Additionally, I am interested in the potential of utilizing tailings for carbon capture and storage, investigating their role in CO2 sequestration. Beyond academia, I have industry experience working with consulting firms such as SRK, HATCH, and AECOM, where I was involved in geotechnical field investigations, tailings dam design, and stability analysis. 導(dǎo)師主頁(yè)：https://stuartyuanli.github.io/ 標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試要求：托福80 or 雅思 6.5 計(jì)劃招生： 全獎(jiǎng)碩士若干，全獎(jiǎng)博士一個(gè)名額。入學(xué)時(shí)間最早為 2025年春/秋 ，可以根據(jù)實(shí)際情況商定。 本科為采礦工程，土木工程，選礦工程，地質(zhì)工程以及其他相關(guān)專業(yè)均可申請(qǐng)，有興趣的同學(xué)請(qǐng)把申請(qǐng)材料(CV, 成績(jī)單等)發(fā)至：Stuart.li@utah.edu.
