|
we are looking for research associate(s) / research assistant(s) with the background in the field of mechanical engineering / automation to join the advanced biomedical robotics lab at chow yuk ho technology centre for innovative medicine, the chinese university of hong kong (cuhk). the appointee(s) will mainly work with dr. zheng li and his research team on the project of robotic system for minimally invasive transperineal prostate diagnosis and therapy. applicants should have (i) a master’s degree or above in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, automation, control, robotics or related disciplines, plus four years of post-qualification relevant experience (for research associate); or, a bachelor’s degree or above in the abovementioned disciplines (for research assistant); (ii) at least three years’ experience in developing mechatronic/robotic systems; (iii) good programming skills for hardware control; (iv) strong hands-on experience with the mechatronic system (e.g., motors, microcontrollers, and sensors); (v) strong attention to detail and high flexibility; (vi) good communication, coordination and organizational skills with a strong sense of responsibility; (vii) strong problem-solving and analytical ability; (viii) ability to work under pressure independently to meet multiple tasks and tight deadlines; and (ix) fluency in both written and spoken english, cantonese or mandarin. experience in the manufacturing process and/or mechanism design with cad software such as fusion 360, solidworks or equivalent will be advantageous. background in robotic motion planning and system integration of robotic systems is preferable. immediate availability is highly preferred. the appointee(s) will assist in (a) designing, developing, and enhancing electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices; (b) path planning, force control, visual servo, and ultrasound imaging processing for robotic systems; (c) developing design for mechanical parts and final products together with system documentation; (d) selecting the required tools/components and materials for the manufacturing process; and (e) participating in the optimization of production lines or products and making recommendations for improvement. appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. applicant should provide the following documents : (1) full curriculum vitae (including academic qualifications and research experience); and (2) copies of academic certificates. please contact dr. zheng li (lizheng@cuhk.edu.hk) with email subject titled " robotic system for minimally invasive transperineal prostate diagnosis and therapy " for application and more information.
