PhD and Postdoc Positions Related to Applied Thermodynamics in CO2 Storage The injection of CO2 into geological formations triggers complex physical and chemical interac tions and phenomena across different time and length scales. These are critical for the assessment of the injectivity, capacity, and containment of a specific storage site.To address various fluid related issues in CO2 storage, the Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE), Department of Chemistry at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) will recruit several PhD students and postdocs for recently granted CO2 storage projects. These research positions require a strong background in applied thermodynamics as well as an interdisciplinary approach to the engineering aspects of CO2 storage. We are specifically seeking candidates who have, or are willing quickly to acquire the following skills: • Phase equilibrium calculation algorithms and their integration into dynamic CO2 storage simulation • Measurement of phase equilibrium and thermophysical properties • Thermodynamic modeling of phase equilibrium and thermophysical properties related to CO2-rich mixtures. Prospective PhD students should hold an M.Sc. degree or equivalent in disciplines like chemical engineering, applied chemistry, or petroleum engineering. The candidates for both types of posi tions should possess strong programming skills. We aim to fill these positions during 2023 and 2024 and will make decisions as soon as we iden tify the right candidates.
