Multiple Fully-Funded PhD Positions (Fall 2022/ Spring 2023): Multifunctional Materials and Structures, Structural Health Monitoring Dr. Zhang’s group in the Civil Engineering Department at the New Mexico State University has multiple Fully-Funded PhD positions in Fall 2022/ Spring 2023 . The research focus of Dr. Zhang’s group is advancing the knowledge and technology required to create a new generation of automated and multifunctional structural health monitoring (SHM) systems. To achieve this goal, multidisciplinary research is carried out to integrate sensing, machine learning/computer vision, mechanical metamaterials, energy harvesting, and additive manufacturing technologies. Dr. Zhang’s group is active in attending international conferences and publishing top-tier journals, including Advanced Functional Materials, Nano Energy, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Review, etc. PhD Position Required Qualifications: • BS/MS in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related discipline is required. • Research experience in one or more following areas is preferred: sensing, nondestructive evaluation, machine learning/computer vision, mechanical metamaterials, energy harvesting, 3D printing • Technical writing skill is preferred Start Date: PHD positions are expected to start in: Fall 2022/Spring 2023 Supervision: Candidates who are interested in participating in a vibrant multidisciplinary and collaborative research group are welcome to contact Professor Qianyun Zhang (gloriazhang06@gmail.com) with your CV. |
