英國格拉斯哥大學(xué),QS全球排名77 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Glasgow)PHD 全獎 研究方向:5G/6G通信,邊緣計算,機器人,AI Project: Mobile Edge Computing for Telerobotics in 5G and 6G Description: The 5th and 6th generation cellular networks (5G and 6G) with impressive performance provide great potentials to exchange data and skills over wireless networks. Telerobotics is one of them which spans wide range of applications such as remote operation in Industry 4.0, healthcare, education, etc, especially in case of infectious diseases. Afflictive effects of Covid-19 on socio-economic life over last few months proves the importance of remote operation especially in case of emergency situations, where people cannot physically be present on site. Thus, there will be strong demand and a large market for remote controlled robotics in the future. However, real-time robotic control requires ultra-reliable and low-latency communications to satisfy control performance requirements. The biggest challenge is to have reliable and low-latency remote robotic control over wireless links. In this project, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) techniques will be studied to address the challenge from the perspective of co-design of communication protocols, robotic systems, and inference engines, where machine learning, artificial intelligent (AI), real-time analysis, optimization techniques will be used. Students are expected to design and test their ideas using the 5G testbed and tele-robotic testbed at University of Glasgow. The School of Engineering has a limited number of Scholarships to offer to excellent candidates. The deadline for applications is Monday 7 June 2021.
