Research fellow (postdoc) in X-ray photonics @ NTU Singapore
|

We are seeking a highly-driven, talented and creative Research Fellow to join us in our efforts to study of X-ray photonics in exotic materials. Specifically, the research fellow will engage in quantitative studies on the scintillation response of nanostructures and emerging materials under various conditions. Read more about our research at our group website https://sites.g@@gle.com/view/ljwgroup. Our group explores novel phenomena and groundbreaking applications arising from light-matter interactions. We aim to develop concepts and technologies for next-generation light sources and detectors based on new electron-photon interaction phenomena. We are based at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Key responsibilities: • Perform experimental and theoretical studies on light-matter interactions in exotic materials • Quantitative study of the scintillation response of given materials under various conditions. • Publication in top-tier journals • Literature review • Supervision of graduate students and undergraduates We are looking for applicants with the following attributes: • Internationally recognized Doctoral degree in applied physics, materials chemistry, optical physics, or strongly related fields • Proven track record of excellence in high energy radiation characterizations with specialization in setups that use X-rays (e.g. XRD or XPS) or fast electrons (e.g. SEM or TEM)). • Experience and knowledge in nanofabrication are preferred; Strong publication track record is an advantage. • Self-motivated, highly independent, and able to perform under stress. • Works well individually as well as in a team • Eager to learn new things and passionate about research LinkedIn: https://sg.linkedin.com/in/liang-jie-wong-795860193 Interested parties should contact Prof. Liang Jie Wong at email address liangjie.wong (at) ntu (dot) edu (dot) sg with CV, full academic transcripts and the contact details of 3 references.
