Postdoc in single-cell analysis for cancer research at University of Pittsburgh
|
|
Postdoctoral positions in single-cell analysis for cancer precision medicine are available in the laboratory of Dr. Yu-Chih Chen (https://www.ycchenlab.org/) at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, Department of Computational and Systems Biology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Description: Our lab focuses on high-throughput single-cell analysis, next generation sequencing (NGS), and machine learning for cancer precision medicine. Due to genomic and epigenetic instability of cancer cells, inter-patient and intra-patient heterogeneity in tumors creates formidable challenges in identifying optimal treatments. To address the challenges, we aim to establish comprehensive high-throughput multi-omics single-cell analysis including genome, epigenome, transcriptome, proteome, functional, and morphological methods. With large amounts of data collected from high-throughput single-cell multi-omics analysis, machine learning techniques can predict patient prognosis and suggest treatments for precision medicine. The integrated approach will change how we understand and treat cancer and ultimately improve outcomes for patients. The successful applicant will establish and perform high-throughput single-cell analysis and analyze the data using machine learning approaches. Qualifications: Applicants are required to have an MD or a PhD degree in cell biology, molecular biology, computational biology, or a related field, obtained within the past five years. Experience and skills with cellular and molecular biology techniques are required. Experimental skills related to single-cell analysis, microfluidics, and computation would be an advantage. The successful applicant is expected to be a team player, but also to work independently, and to have strong verbal and written English communication skills. Salary is commensurate with experience and based on current NIH guidelines.
