THE HONG KONG POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED PHYSICS Post Specification (1) Postdoctoral Fellow (Ref. 20111115) [Appointment period: twenty months] (2) Research Assistant (two posts) (Ref. 20111116) [Appointment period: twenty months] Duties The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project - “Demonstration of fuel cell vehicles”. Qualifications Applicants for the Postdoctoral Fellow post should have a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification and must have no more than five years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have a Master’s degree or a good honours degree with at least three years of research/relevant work experience. For all posts, applicants should demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams, and must also meet at least one of the following criteria: (i) have strong fundamentals in H2 generation and fuel cell working principles; (ii) have extensive knowledge of design and analysis of PEM fuel cell stacks, fuel and air handling/metering, energy management/optimization, functional safety and diagnostics calibration; (iii) have strong understanding of reaction engineering and chemical thermodynamics and thermal engineering; and/or (iv) have hands-on experience in constructing/building continuous flow reactor system.
