My experience in reading many marketing success stories made significance and brought me much accomplishment in marketing. The brainstorming with my partners aroused my interest in this field and also built me great confidence. 點(diǎn)評(píng)： ◆ 全文語(yǔ)言復(fù)雜且不符合用語(yǔ)習(xí)慣；從句套從句是英文寫作中最忌諱的問題；詞不達(dá)意，用詞不精準(zhǔn)；語(yǔ)法錯(cuò)誤多； ◆ 作為第一段邏輯混亂，只是將自己有的材料無關(guān)聯(lián)堆砌； ◆ 第一段并沒有直接點(diǎn)名讀研究生的動(dòng)機(jī)，也無法用強(qiáng)有力的例子證明自己的動(dòng)機(jī)； ◆ 用詞不當(dāng)。PS寫作切忌從句套從句；用詞準(zhǔn)確，表達(dá)流暢清晰比用flourish的詞匯效果好。 經(jīng)過不斷激發(fā)他更好的探索自己的動(dòng)機(jī)，修改后的開頭段落如下： Different from my peers in high school whose bedtime readings mainly involved science fictions, I was particularly obsessed with books concerning business and marketing strategies, from which, I could always find vivid examples in life. Inspired by XXX’s theory of XXXX, I began to collect various stories of my favorite brands such as XXX and XXX. The more I dig into, the trickier I find the diverse cases were. Therefore, I chose to study marketing as an undergraduate and decide to pursue further studies at XXXX university. 點(diǎn)評(píng)： ◆ 第一段開門見山，點(diǎn)明動(dòng)機(jī)，思路十分清晰流暢； ◆ 通過一個(gè)點(diǎn)和側(cè)面來詳細(xì)敘述學(xué)生的動(dòng)機(jī)，既體現(xiàn)了專業(yè)性，也體現(xiàn)了學(xué)生的務(wù)實(shí)； ◆ 語(yǔ)言簡(jiǎn)單，清晰流暢；雖然用詞不復(fù)雜，但是地道精準(zhǔn)。 內(nèi)容部分節(jié)選 The most influential thing I want to share is XXX Competition as well as XXX Competition. I organized team members from different majors to conduct regular online discussions, putting forward eight innovation marketing strategies for several hot topics. At the same time, we used the WeChat public platform and other short video platforms to make promotion and triggered a hot topic in campus. As the team leader, I not only led to make continuous innovation, but also follow up the case and reported to teachers. My devotion to the competition has endowed me with strong communication skills and teamwork ability. 點(diǎn)評(píng)： ◆ 本段開頭第一句是非�？谡Z(yǔ)話的表達(dá)，不適合用在PS此類學(xué)術(shù)英文寫作中； ◆ 整個(gè)段落只是CV的擴(kuò)充版，機(jī)械地說明自己在活動(dòng)中所做的事情，但是并不能體現(xiàn)自己的品質(zhì)和技能；讀完全段以后，也并不能說服讀者自己的確擁有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力以及溝通能力； ◆ 段落中涉及很多無用且無聊的細(xì)節(jié)，比如，“follow up the case and reported to teachers”，此類細(xì)節(jié)的增添只會(huì)讓reviewer 覺得乏味，文章冗余。 同樣，原稿只有區(qū)區(qū)100單詞說明完的內(nèi)容，我們一同進(jìn)行了深度brainstorming，挖掘出了很多出彩且容易被他自己忽略的細(xì)節(jié)，全方位的體現(xiàn)了他的能力和技能； 修改后案例如下： Due to my previous excellence, I was selected as a leader for an XXXX competition . By employing my own network, I set up an 8-person team with members from different academic backgrounds within only 2 days. With previous experience, which revealed me that a plan based on data and fact would be more effective, I decided to conduct detailed preliminary investigation first. To ensure the preciseness of the data collected, I spent loads of time designing and modifying the questions listed in the questionnaires, which as I believe, would influence the accuracy of our final results. After the first version of the questionnaire was produced, which did not reach an ideal result, I pretended to be the interviewees myself, answering all the questions with a detailed analysis of the logic and relations between these listed questions. After repeated checks, I detected the irrationality of the question sequences and optimized the questions, which laid a solid foundation for our subsequent research. Marketing as a practical science, should also take multiple practical details into account. How to save the budget was our major concern. Inspired by the XXXX theory, I innovatively decided to reduce the X % discount to X % for the first X days, which could help us recover the cost quickly. The sales of XXX bottles of the drinks were successfully achieved with no extra expense, which was a proof of my right strategy. The glamor of marketing, as I believe, resides in its combination of theory and practice. 點(diǎn)評(píng)： ◆ 修改后的PS，以小見大，通過生動(dòng)的描述，以及有用細(xì)節(jié)的添加，有說服力的體現(xiàn)了他的學(xué)術(shù)上嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)性以及活學(xué)活用，舉一反三的學(xué)術(shù)能力；要切記，無論是碩士還是博士申請(qǐng)，學(xué)術(shù)上的能力遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)優(yōu)先于溝通能力和領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力，畢竟繼續(xù)深造老師更關(guān)心的是你能否在學(xué)術(shù)上有潛力。 ◆ 段落字字珠璣，沒有多余的細(xì)節(jié)和語(yǔ)言，每一句甚至每一個(gè)用詞都是有目的的。比如By employing my own network, I set up an 8-person team with members from different academic backgrounds within only 2 days. 這一句簡(jiǎn)簡(jiǎn)單單自然地讓讀者信服學(xué)員有相應(yīng)的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)能力，而非在PS中自吹自擂空洞得表達(dá)“我有領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力” ◆ 全文段落流暢，邏輯清晰；讓PS 內(nèi)容嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)而不失生動(dòng)有趣。 Reviewer 角度綜合點(diǎn)評(píng) PS初稿打分：30/100 審閱時(shí)間：不超過2分鐘 材料歸類：C類 綜合點(diǎn)評(píng)：邏輯結(jié)構(gòu)混亂；只是CV的擴(kuò)充版，將自己所做過的工作無條理得堆砌成PS；語(yǔ)言中式，詞不達(dá)意，可讀性太差；內(nèi)容包括了太多的無用細(xì)節(jié)，只會(huì)起到反面作用。 PS修改后打分：90/100 審閱時(shí)間：一般老師對(duì)于此類文章都會(huì)有興趣的仔細(xì)讀完 材料歸類：A類 綜合點(diǎn)評(píng)：語(yǔ)言表達(dá)流暢清晰而精準(zhǔn)，不存在讓reviewer 費(fèi)力的去猜測(cè)作者想要表達(dá)的意思；對(duì)于學(xué)生的經(jīng)歷進(jìn)行了生動(dòng)地描寫，嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)而有說服力的展現(xiàn)了學(xué)生的學(xué)術(shù)品質(zhì)和技能；全文邏輯清晰，這也是間接體現(xiàn)學(xué)生學(xué)術(shù)能力的一個(gè)側(cè)面。 今天的案例就到這里~之后將帶來更多經(jīng)典文書成功失敗的對(duì)比案例~ |
