海外博士后面試經(jīng)歷_2D materials at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

skype interview with dr. sufei shi: 1. we discuss the snom spectroscopy and the spectrometer; 2. we discuss the 325 laser interference lithography, spatial filter, high-resolution photo resist and developer; 3. we discuss home-building a micro-raman/pl spctrometer, the mapping by stage scanning and laser scanning; 4. dr. shi talks about his plan to home-build low-temperature confocal laser-scanning optical spectroscopic systems for pl, raman and laser lithography; 5. i ask and dr. shi talk about postdoc job of optoelectronic characterization with a focus on 2d materials, such as solar cell and photodetector. 6. i ask and dr. shi talk about nanofabrication clean room in rensselaer polytechnic institute. 7. i ask and dr. shi talk about single-crystal material growth by home-build cvd and collaboration from cornell. 8. i talk about my experience of building cvd lab in nanjing unviersity and dr. shi talks about his using mass flow controller to build a cvd. 9. i ask and dr. shi talk about home-building a probe station. 10. i ask and dr. shi talks about my 1-year postdoc contract extendable to 3 years. 11. i ask about when to know the result and dr. shi said the result will be released in late january. 12. dr. shi ask about my labview experience and feels impressive about my background and skill, but he needs recommendation letters about before making a deceision. 13. we talk about my application for faculty positions and dr. shi said he is confident to have high publication. end on 23 dec 2015. eventually i did not obtain the offer. 緣起：我找海外博士后，投過126個簡歷，有過十幾次歐美博士后面試。其中印象深刻的是英國大學(xué)的2次面試，因?yàn)槲也皇潜粏柦炭茣R就是被問到答不出來；還有兩次美國大學(xué)的華人老板面試，其中一個當(dāng)場給了offer，結(jié)果后面email交流offer細(xì)節(jié)之下發(fā)現(xiàn)是坑，因?yàn)闆]有假期和自付保險(xiǎn)；還有中美聯(lián)合項(xiàng)目的面試，是給offer最早的(一般國內(nèi)的offer肯定是最早到的)，卻在內(nèi)地大學(xué)的人事部這個環(huán)節(jié)上不順暢，最后發(fā)現(xiàn)也是坑。這么多次面試、拒信和offer，我最后的選擇是最符合我的能力和興趣的，所以說這個被篩選和篩選offer的過程，正是對自己的科研能力和興趣越來越明晰的過程，最終達(dá)到一個勞資雙方都匹配的狀態(tài)�；仡^來看，我是應(yīng)該感謝那兩所英國大學(xué)如此嚴(yán)格的面試以及拒信的，否則即便我拿到了他們的offer，我的表現(xiàn)可能很差，最終雙輸。當(dāng)然，伴隨著這個找博士后過程的是焦慮、恐慌、誘惑，人難以很從容地做決定。但是，我的經(jīng)驗(yàn)是即使面試當(dāng)場給了offer、面對當(dāng)場答應(yīng)就解脫的誘惑，自己都必須冷靜幾天考慮一下在平靜狀態(tài)下再做決定。也正因?yàn)榇�，我會將這些博士后面試經(jīng)歷陸續(xù)分享出來，希望對其他找海外博士后的蟲友有所幫助。 |
