soman lab (https://psoman.expressions.syr.edu/) is located within the syracuse biomaterials institute (http://biomaterials.syr.edu/), a central research facility housing equipment for 3d fabrication, polymer synthesis, material and surface characterization, cell culture, and imaging.

phd position:

soman group has immediate openings for doctoral students in the area of laser based nano/microfabrication (multi-photon processing, stereolithography etc.), optics based biomedical imaging (nonlinear optics imaging, coherent anti-stokes raman imaging etc.) for spring/fall 2020. soman group focuses on developing new advanced manufacturing/imaging technologies for a range of biomedical applications. soman lab is located within the syracuse biomaterials institute, a central research facility housing equipment for 3d fabrication, polymer synthesis, material and surface characterization, cell culture, and imaging. soman lab features a state-of-the-art ultrafast laser, spatial light modulators and several other optical devices.

requirements: applicants should be self-directed and interested in working in a multidisciplinary research environment. a masters in an engineering, physics or chemistry discipline is desired along with good writing and communication skills. hands-on experience in laser system especially fabricating polymeric structures is highly desirable.

potential start date: january/august 2020. (recruiting until being filled)

博士招生:
  soman lab急招一名博士研究生，方向是激光微納加工/光學生物醫(yī)學成像用于生物醫(yī)學應用，實驗室在雪城大學的生物醫(yī)學材料研究中心，該中心擁有材料加工、合成和表征等設備，細胞培養(yǎng)和成像設備，同時與紐約上州醫(yī)學院長期合作生物在體實驗。目前實驗室擁有基于飛秒激光的多維度加工設備一套，基于數(shù)字掩模的投影加工設備兩套，多頭/多材料打印設備一套，噴涂打印設備三套，主要針對骨組織、心臟組織、血管組織等再生方面的研究以及相關的組織模型芯片的開發(fā)。
  歡迎擁有具有光學/激光/光刻/微納加工/光學成像的同學優(yōu)先考慮。
  預期入學時間：2020 spring/fall.
