Postdoc position at Aalborg University:

A postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Data-intensive Systems (Daisy), Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. The position is available immediately with a flexible starting date within the next couple of months. The position is initially for one year and can be extended up to a total of four years after mutual agreement. Objective and research project: The objective of the postdoctoral researcher is to *define and build a data lake in the Flexible Energy Denmark (FED) research project*. The objective of FED is to unlock, describe, and test energy flexibility at all levels, by empowering integrated energy systems using digitalization and data intelligence. We establish a new nationwide data platform of connected living labs facilitating the coupling of existing domain specific labs and enabling new synergies. FED will provide data intelligent tools and solutions. To achieve this, FED creates a data lake to store, compare, share, and analyze the collected real-life data, supporting different data formats, security, and scalability. Integration and refinement enables cross-dataset analysis. The project consortium consists of 4 Danish universities, 22 industrial partners, 1 public institution, and 1 foundation. Requirements: - PhD in computer science - excellent scientific background and publication record - demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team - excellent communication skills in English, oral as well as written - good programming skills Advanced experience in at least two of the following areas: - analytics - handling of Big Data - data lakes - data integration - time series Responsibilities: - define and build a data lake for the FED project - perform excellent scientific research - develop research prototypes and conduct experiments - publish in international conferences and journals - participate in activities of the group and the department Employment: The position is initially available for one year with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement. The annual salary is approximately DKK 450.000 (ca. EUR 60,000), inclusive of pension contributions and pre taxes. For foreign researchers who qualify for the tax scheme for foreign researchers, the annual salary inclusive of penson contributions and after taxes is approximately 300,000 (ca. EUR 40,000).
